OC FERTILITY COVID-19 SAFETY POLICY
OC Fertility continues its commitment to our Building Families, Together amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Moayeri and Dr. Sachdev are continually reviewing and updating our policies to maintain the safest possible environment.
Getting Started
- Wherever possible, we conduct visits remotely, using our private and secure telehealth platform
- Based on your needs after the consult, we provide in-person services, such as ultrasounds, by appointment.
- If you have been exposed to COVID-19, or traveled within 14 days before your clinic appointment, and are experiencing respiratory symptoms or fever, please contact us before visiting our office. When you contact us, please advise us if you have been fully vaccinated.
In Person Visit Policy
- We will check your temperature and ask you to complete a mandatory COVID-19 risk screening questionnaire before every appointment.
- We will ask you to email us a photo of the front and back of both your ID and healthcare cards before or at the time of your first appointment.
- You must wear a mask at all times.
- We enforce social distancing of 6 feet between individuals.
- We are doing additional cleaning between patients.
- If you're undergoing IVF, egg freezing, embryo banking or Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET), we will perform a COVID-19 test in the middle of the treatment cycle.
- Unfortunately, to limit potential COVID-19 exposure, we cannot allow partners, family members, or friends to attend appointments with you. We understand this can be especially difficult and have provided our staff with training to help you get through these challenging times.
Ongoing Treatment Policy
- Treatment cycle cancellations may occur if you become ill, show symptoms consistent with COVID-19, have a fever, test positive for COVID-19, or we encounter regulations recommended by agencies that are beyond our control.
- If you are concerned about risks of cancellation during your ovarian stimulation or FET cycle, we encourage you to proceed with COVID-19 testing prior to initiating treatment.
- If you are exposed to COVID-19, have a positive test, or symptoms, we are required to halt treatment of any kind until the appropriate quarantine requirements are met
- Fully vaccinated individuals do not need to quarantine after exposure if you are asymptomatic. However, vaccinated individuals with an exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 are not required to quarantine if you meet all of the following criteria:
- You are fully vaccinated (i.e., More than two weeks following receipt of the second dose in a two-dose series, or more than two weeks following receipt of one dose of a single-dose vaccine)
- Are within three months following receipt of the last dose in the series, and
- Have remained asymptomatic since the current COVID-19 exposure
- Fully vaccinated individuals do not need to quarantine after exposure if you are asymptomatic. However, vaccinated individuals with an exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 are not required to quarantine if you meet all of the following criteria:
- We recognize that testing alone is not the most accurate way of preventing exposure of COVID-19, thus we ask that you, and anyone in your household, diligently:
- Wear masks
- Wash your hands
- Maintain a 6 foot distance from others
- Avoid large gatherings
Travel Policy
If You Are NOT Vaccinated
If you travel on any form of public transport, including airplanes, we ask that you follow our Quarantine Policy—prior to coming into our office:
- Quarantine for 10 days, or
- Take a COVID-19 PCR test and get a negative test result within 5 days of your return.
If You Are Vaccinated
If you are fully immunized, you do not have to quarantine, as long as you do not have symptoms. We ask that you continue to wear face masks, social distance, and maintain proper hand hygiene.
Testing
At this time, OC Fertility advises patients to take the COVID-19 PCR test ("swab" test) and NOT the blood/serum antibody test or rapid antigen swab.
