In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) at OC Fertility® + OC Biogenix®
At OC Fertility® + OC Biogenix®, we offer advanced in vitro fertilization (IVF) services to support your journey to parenthood. Our nationally recognized IVF lab and experienced care team provide the technology and compassion you need — whether you’re just beginning or seeking a second opinion.
What Is In Vitro Fertilization?
IVF is a medical procedure that helps individuals or couples conceive by fertilizing an egg with sperm outside the body in a lab. The resulting embryo is then transferred into the uterus, with the goal of achieving a successful pregnancy.
Our IVF program supports:
- Individuals and couples of all backgrounds
- Same-sex couples
- Patients using donor eggs, sperm, or embryos
- Individuals preserving fertility for medical or personal reasons
- Intended parents working with a surrogate or gestational carrier
Who Might Consider IVF?
You may benefit from IVF if you:
- Have tried other fertility treatments (like IUI) without success
- Have conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, or male factor infertility
- Are over age 40 or have diminished ovarian reserve (DOR)
- Have experienced multiple miscarriages (recurrent pregnancy loss)
- Are preserving fertility due to cancer or other health concerns
- Have damaged or absent fallopian tubes
- Want to screen embryos for genetic or chromosomal issues (PGT)
- Plan to use donor eggs, sperm, or embryos
- Have frozen eggs, sperm, or embryos from a previous cycle
- Are working with a surrogate
- Are exploring reciprocal IVF (shared biological parenting for same-sex female couples)
Our 5-Step IVF Process
Step 1
Ovarian Stimulation
You’ll take daily hormone injections to encourage your ovaries to mature multiple eggs. This process takes about 10–14 days, with frequent monitoring via ultrasound and bloodwork. A final trigger shot ensures eggs are ready for retrieval.
Using a donor egg? We manage the entire cycle in-house with expert coordination and support.
Step 2
Egg Retrieval
Your doctor will perform this outpatient procedure under sedation. Using ultrasound guidance, the eggs are gently removed and taken to our embryology lab for evaluation.
Step 3
Sperm Collection
On the same day as retrieval, sperm is collected from your partner or accessed from a frozen donor source. The sperm is washed and prepared to optimize fertilization.
Step 4
Fertilization
Eggs and sperm are combined in our lab. In some cases, we use ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) to directly inject a single sperm into each egg. Fertilization results are assessed the next day.
If you’ve chosen genetic testing (PGT), we will biopsy the embryos and freeze them while results are processed.
Step 5
Embryo Transfer
Once the embryo reaches the blastocyst stage (typically day 5–6), it is transferred into the uterus using ultrasound guidance for accuracy. This can be done in the same cycle (fresh transfer) or a later cycle (frozen embryo transfer or FET), based on your treatment plan.
